Demineralized Water

Demineralized water is a type of purified water that has had most of its mineral and salt ions removed. This includes cations like sodium, calcium, iron, and copper, as well as anions such as chloride and sulfate. The demineralization process is achieved through various methods such as reverse osmosis, deionization, ion exchange, and distillation. The resulting water is almost free of dissolved minerals and is used where the presence of minerals would be undesirable, such as in manufacturing processes or in laboratories. Demineralized water is also used in the automotive industry, for instance, in car cooling systems to prevent mineral buildup and corrosion. While demineralized water is suitable for many industrial applications, it is generally not recommended for drinking, as the lack of minerals can affect the taste and health benefits of the water.
